An extremely expensive, filthy and poorly maintained apartment that was so unacceptable we didn’t feel comfortable or sa Positive: Nothing. Negative: Unfortunately, our experience with this property was absolutely awful. Considering how expensive it was to book, the condition we found it in was completely unacceptable. The property was extremely rundown, tired, dirty and poorly maintained. The apartment was so disgusting and unclean that we did not feel comfortable or safe staying there. In the end, we decided we simply could not stay and had to book alternative accommodation elsewhere at our own expense. The apartment itself smelt unpleasant and clearly had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. The walls were covered in marks and dirt, the flooring was damaged, the bed felt cheap and was dirty, and unbelievably, we even found a toenail left on the sofa. The toilet was broken, the toilet seat was also broken, and the overall condition of the apartment was shocking considering the amount we had paid. There were also major issues with the building that we were not expecting. We could not access the balcony, and the windows were covered in plastic due to construction work being carried out on the building, meaning we couldn’t even properly see outside. The pool was also closed for the entire duration of our booking. The communal areas were unclean and smelt unpleasant as well, which only added to how uncomfortable we felt being there. Communication from the host has been awful. Despite the number and seriousness of the problems we experienced, the host has been extremely unresponsive and has done very little to address our concerns. We paid a significant amount of money for this accommodation and expected a clean, safe and properly maintained property where we could enjoy our stay in Miami. Instead, we arrived to find a dirty, rundown apartment, ongoing construction, plastic covering the windows, no balcony access, a closed pool, broken bathroom fittings and extremely poor cleanliness. It was so bad that we chose to leave and pay for alternative accommodation rather than stay there.
